Who We Are
Theory H2O was founded on a singular conviction: that the sophistication of a space is only as credible as the engineering behind it. Backed by over two decades of specialized expertise in the design and manufacturing of decorative plumbing products, our team brings uncompromising technical mastery to every project, from concept through installation. We exist to serve architects, interior designers, and installers who refuse to separate beauty from performance.
What We Make
Every Theory product is precision CNC-machined, designed and assembled in Canada, and engineered to meet the exacting standards of the world's most discerning hospitality and residential environments. Our current offering centres on the OneRough™ rough-in system and the Quadro handle collection, with spouts and shower systems rounding out the lineup.
Where We're Going
The OneRough™ telescopic cartridge system is patent-pending and available Q4 2026, engineered to support the Quadro handle collection and future trim generations. Spout and shower offerings continue through our current lineup. Handles, additional series, and expanded product categories follow as the brand scales.
Theory H2O Studio
Theory H2O Studio is the creative and development arm dedicated to handles, trims, and accessories. Working directly with designers and project teams, the Studio translates spatial concepts into fully resolved plumbing expressions. Bespoke in form, flawless in function.
Hospitality clients increasingly specify Theory H2O for its unique ability to anchor a property's identity in even the most intimate spaces. Through the OneRough™ platform, bespoke handle and trim designs are realized in custom colours, finishes, and textures, turning plumbing into a considered extension of brand and interior narrative.
"What is behind the wall is every bit as important as what lies in front of it."
Theory H2O Design Philosophy
Every Theory H2O product is precision-machined using CNC technology to tolerances that make perfect trim registration possible. Designed and assembled in Canada, each piece reflects the same standard of craft that defines the brand: exacting, intentional, and built to outlast the building it serves.
Patent Pending Innovation
Telescopic cartridge system (TCS) · Available Q4 2026
Three years in development, OneRough™ represents the most significant evolution in bathroom rough-in technology in a generation. Named for its telescopic cartridge mechanism, it allows cartridges to move completely independently from the rough-in base, a deceptively simple innovation with profound consequences for every installation. Available Q4 2026, OneRough™ launches in support of the Quadro handle collection.
The result: handles and trim always land exactly where they were designed to, perfectly flush with finished surfaces regardless of tile depth, stone thickness, or wall variation. The era of compromised trim positioning is over.
OneRough™ unlocks truly infinite handle and trim configurations: a blank canvas for designers and an engineering solution for installers. For hospitality projects, the system enables fully bespoke handle and trim designs, enhanced through custom colour, finish, and texture to reinforce brand identity at every touchpoint.
LEED & Sustainability
OneRough™ reframes how architects and specifiers approach plumbing infrastructure. The conversation is no longer "which rough-in fits this wall depth?" It becomes: specify OneRough™ once, and it fits every wall depth, every renovation, and every new trim generation for the life of the building.
This is circular economy thinking embedded in the product itself. Theory H2O's stainless steel platform supports multiple LEED v4 credit categories through material integrity, longevity, reduced replacement cycles, and elimination of chemical surface treatments that compromise indoor air and water quality.
Stainless steel is 100% recyclable with no material downgrade. Eliminates landfill contribution at end of product life.
No coatings, no leaching. Pure stainless steel contact surfaces with no biocides, no antimicrobials, no chemical treatments.
OneRough™'s generational trim adaptability enables a single rough-in specification to serve multiple renovations, a first in the industry.
Products engineered to outlast the building's renovation cycles dramatically reduce replacement-driven embodied carbon over a 50-year period.
Stainless steel's longevity and recyclability contribute to whole-building life cycle assessments, supporting MR Credit documentation for LEED v4 submittals.
Aligned with Ellen MacArthur Foundation circular economy principles: designed to last, designed to be repurposed, and designed to eliminate the concept of waste entirely.
For Architects & Specifiers
OneRough™ reframes the specification conversation entirely.
"Which rough-in fits this wall depth?"
"Specify once. It fits every wall depth, every renovation, every new trim generation, for the life of the building."
OneRough™ is a spec-and-forget infrastructure decision. It reduces architect liability, eliminates contractor callbacks, supports LEED documentation, and delivers an owner a plumbing infrastructure asset, not a consumable.
For LEED project teams, the combination of stainless material integrity, telescopic adaptability, and generational trim compatibility creates a product narrative that touches Materials, Waste, Indoor Quality, and Innovation credits simultaneously. A rare achievement for a single product specification.

Exclusively stainless steel. A decision rooted in performance, longevity, and responsibility.
100% Recyclable
Stainless steel is among the most recycled materials on earth. At end of product life, it can be fully recovered and reprocessed without loss of quality, creating a genuine circular material loop and eliminating landfill contribution.
Generational Durability
The most sustainable product is one that never needs to be replaced. Stainless steel's resistance to corrosion, tarnish, and degradation means Theory H2O products last for generations, dramatically reducing the consumption cycle and embodied carbon of replacement.
No Coatings, No Leaching
Unlike plated or coated metals, stainless steel requires no chemical surface treatments that can degrade over time and leach into water supplies. Pure material integrity, from manufacture to daily use.
Low Lifecycle Footprint
Because stainless steel products need no refinishing, recoating, or periodic replacement, their total environmental cost over decades is vastly lower than conventional alternatives, making the choice economically and ecologically sound.
Hygienic by Nature
Stainless steel's non-porous surface does not harbour bacteria, biofilm, or mould. This is critical in water environments. No biocides or antimicrobial coatings are required, keeping chemistry out of the production process entirely.
Responsible Manufacturing
Precision CNC manufacturing minimises material waste through tight tolerances and efficient stock use. What little scrap is generated is fully recyclable back into the steel supply chain, a near zero-waste production model.
Theory H2O's product collection covers every element in front of the wall: handles, spouts, shower trims, shower heads, wall unions, and hand showers, each designed with the accuracy and resolution that luxury interiors demand.
Through Theory Studio, customization is not an exception. It is a core part of how we work , available at every level, from finish selection to fully bespoke product development, in direct collaboration with designers, architects, and their clients.
